San Angelo Miners | Brandon Mullen
San Angelo will be without their top passer for the remainder of the season, according to reports coming in from Hallas. With the game tied at 17-17, Mullen went down and has apparently broken his jaw. That is expected to be it the end of his season right there.
Brandon Gooden, who scored a third quarter fumble recovery td, also missed time in the first half. Gooden returned to the game and defended two passes and scored a touchdown.

Trailing 23-28 with just 11 seconds remaining, Miners QB Brandon Mullen found Anchor Avery Lewis wide-open following the ‘greatest play-fake, ever!’ according to their coach .Jake McDonald. It was a heartbreaking defeat for the Sharks, and one that leaves them vulnerable for the play-offs now. Sharks QB Trent Harris had dissected the Miners defence in the first half, torching them for 163 yards and three touchdowns. The Sharks’ kicker, Bruce McGwire missed two second-half field goal attempts that would likely have been enough to put the game out of the Miners’ reach in the fourth quarter. ADELPHIA PHOENIX vs MORRIGAN GIANTS
Two divisional rivals, meeting for the third time this season. This one could be brutal. The Giants defence have a really good handle on what the Phoenix like to do with their Aerial assault to open up the ground game. With quick fast passes to the wingers, the Phoenix spread the field and try to leave gaps for the sublime Marshall Knight to pick through. The Giants are adept at closing both QB Kelly and Knight down. They will have to do so one more time to advance. Continue reading Playoffs 2016: First round previews →
