I’ve not posted on here since the Crystal Bowl back in March as life has been quite busy and seeing the NFL pre-season has got me thinking.
I had been keeping an eye-out for a new (American) Football game as I’m still on Madden 08 for the PC, that was released in 2007! I don’t (know how to) do frosty editor, etc. so Madden 19/20 on PC is not for me,
I was keeping an eye/ear out for 2K’s Pro Football game (still a year away?), the new EA CFB game as I saw Maximum Football come and go, It looked like Maximum Football was making huge strives forward, but was at least another year away from being suitable for me, but now it’s gone and I wish David Winter all the best going forward. Axis looked amazing when the editor video’s dropped in 2017, but the in-game graphics never really got going as even a replacement for Madden 08 PC.
Is having a fully-customisable/editable Pro or College Football game on an engine similar to Unreal 4/5 too much to ask in 2021? I have loved playing NBA2K20 on PS4 as I have stuck in all my teams and it feels like it’s my custom league. It’s brilliant!
Sorry to grumble , but there’s now four (association) football/soccer games coming out with FIFA, eFootball/PES, Goalz and UFL all coming out this next year.
It’s depressing seeing what the Madden series has become and the ’22 version is seemingly getting a lot of refunds and in danger of becoming the next WWE2K20 or even worse, Cyberpunk.
SO, I’m thinking of changing team names up on here to make things feel little fresher as not much has changed for the past few seasons- players coming in and what not
Some team names may change or swap around, but at the very least the same PFL style will be going forward.
Here’s to a new fully customisable football game that we can all enjoy!
Cheers!
Simon
Honestly it shouldn’t be too much to ask, but EA don’t care about making the best game to be frank. They are soulless capitalists. 2K aren’t much better in that regard, but hey at least NBA and WWE2K19 were good. Madden hasn’t been good for a long time.
