GRANADA BULLDOGS 28-21 OHARA SCARLETS
The Granada Bulldogs won their third championship of the millennium, with victory in the Champions Bowl Rematch from last year with the defending champions. The Bulldogs trailed 14-13 at the half and 21-13 after three quarters.
Granada QB Aaron Murphy completed fourth quarter touchdown passes to Julius Jackson and Andre Peters, along with a deuce to Scott Moore. Cooler heads from the Bulldogs prevailed late in the game, as the threepeat turned out to be one game too many for the Scarlets. A wonderful legacy has ended.
Ohara’s Alex Thomas threw for 210 yards (21 of 42), two touchdowns and had two passes intercepted. The Sophmore will only get better, having been unleashed this season. Stan Preston’s last outing as a Scarlet was not up to his usual standard, gaining only 35 yards on 11 carries, as Granada shut down the run game.
The Bulldogs’ Senior QB Murphy signed off with 308 yards, 2 TDs, a two-point conversion and one pick. Junior RB Kylian Floyd had 69 yards on the ground from 13 carries, 1 TD and also caught 2 passes. He will have to decide now whether to declare to go pro or stay for his final season.
A terrific end to another UFB season. The final rankings will secure Granada as the number 1 team as the decade passes.
