NUSA UFB | University Football Playoffs – 2019-20
The NUSA Bowl Executive Committee (BEC) have set the final places in the UFB Playoffs for the 2019-20 season. The final eight teams play-off in quarter-finals this weekend, before the semin-finals on Boxing day (26th Dec).
The six conference champions, along with the best two ranked teams qualify for the playoff for the National Championship, culminating in the NUSA Champions Bowl on the first Saturday night of 2020- Jan 4th.
The Committee had to take into account overall record, strength of schedule, away wins and wins against ranked teams to set the order. O’Connell won a poor CAP10, so they fell to no. 6. Amorgan surprised critics by winning the Great Eastern, with their dominating performance in the conference championship game putting them in the number 5 position and eliminating BSU from contention.
Following the committee’s final rankings (acting as the seedings) The quarter-finals are now set as:
#1 Granada vs #8 Oakland
#2 Madison vs #7 Eregonia
#3 Ohara vs #6 O’Connell
#4 Stamford vs #5 Amorgan
With the brackets now set, the semi-finals will be as follows:
#1 Granada / #8 Oakland vs #4 Stamford / #5 Amorgan
#2 Madison / #7 Eregonia vs #3 Ohara / #6 O’Connell
