PFL PLAYOFFS 2018 | Road to the Crystal Bowl
The quarter-finals are in the bag and we are down to the final four teams. With one Sunday left to prove the teams worthy of the Crystal Bowl, it is time to step up!
Rochester Trojans 30- 27 Chakota Wasps
We may have seen the end of an era, with Billy Humphrey, 42, perhaps playing in his last PFL game. His opposite number, Ryan Bruce led a commanding performance in the Wasps’ Nest. Completing 20 of 30 for over 300 yards and three scores, Bruce showed the playoff poise that he has lacked in his previous attempts. If he can do this in Hallas, the Trojans will be going to the big one!
Humphrey was 22 of 40 for 313 yards, two TDs and a pick. He failed to complete his last four passes in their final drive. WR Dre Fox supported well, with ten grabs for 205 yards and two scores, but it was not enough.
The Trojans will face the highest seed, the Hallas Stars in the semi-finals.
New Chester Knights 27 -28 Caligara Bulldogs
The Bulldogs booked their place in the semis with a late 88 yard scoring drive, with Max Buchanon catching Slater’s pass with just 39 seconds remaining in the snowbound stadium.
The Knights have played very well for three quarters, leading 24-14. QB Elijah Brooks was composed and on the money for the most part. They could not hold off Zack Slater in the fourth quarter, however. Zack led the Dogs on 80 and 88 yard scoring drives in the final 10 minutes. Slater found his namesake Seth for the first score, bringing the Dogs within three points. The Knights doubled the lead with a Field Goal, but it wasn’t enough.

Eregon Eagles 13-38 Hallas Stars
The Stars once again got the better of the Eagles to book their place in the penultimate round. QB Drew Williams threw for 361 yards and three scores in a rout of the number 8 seeds.
Oakland Ravens 10- 24 Landor 96ers
The ‘Sixers strong defence locked down the Ravens’ running game. Tom Tomkowski was forced to throw early and the Ravens never looked comfortable. Kurt Sierra and Frank Bowman looked strong on the attack, so the ‘Sixers looked comfortable in the cold condition at Memorial Stadiuim.
Rookie DE Vin Marshall got his first playoff QB Mark, is that the first of many?
Semi-Final Lineups
The semi-finals match the number 7 seed against the number 1 seed. The Number 3 team host the number 4 seed:
Caligara Bulldogs @ Landor 96ers
Rochester Trojans @ Hallas Stars
