The reigning champions kicked off their defence of their title with a 24-20 win over the Ballymore Tigers at Knights Stadium. Elijah Brooks threw for 241 yards and a touchdown, with RB Ryan McKenzie also grabbing a score.
Ballymore kept the game close but failed to complete key third down/fourth down opportunities in the fourth quarter. Bo Mills had a reasonable game, throwing for 198 yards and running for 57 yards. In the game of mobile quarterbacks, though, Elijah clearly had the better, more composed game. But hey, it’s far too early to talk about 18-0, right?
