Without any games to mull over, this time of year creates a different sort of buzz…that of potential. 128 players have the potential to make a huge difference to the outcome of the 2017-18 season. But first, the teams have to weigh them up and make some difficult choices.

Our first group of experts pick their first round fantasy boards. This is their take on how things will pan out this week, can you pick it better?

Commentary: We all think that no1 and no2 are in the bank, Nalen most likely no3. From thereon in we do differ in our thinking. This shows what a difficult job the GMs have in their roles this weekend, but, that is what they are paid to do- so don’t feel that sorry for them!
