PFL HQ | Landor, Landoria

Several big names have filed their retirement papers with the league this off-season. Veteran players with Crystal Bowl experience, though Billy Humphrey has said 2017-18 will be his last season. (… he said that last year, Ed.!)

C  Marty Johnson
(New Jorg 96ers 2002-2011, Landor Knights 2012-2016)

Marty has been a phenomenal figure at the heart of forward play for fifteen seasons. Marty was an excellent signal caller, outstanding run blocker and good pass blocker. Loving the battles on the front lines, Marty excelled at reading defensive schemes and alerting his QB. He won three Crystal Bowls, two with the 96ers and one with the Knights. Chose to bow out as a champions, after 15 tough seasons of play. The Knights will be a bit poorer up front for this decision.

QB  Randy Dunn
(New Jorg 96ers 2005-2016)

The American Quarterback was a passing master, driving defences dizzy with his high-low game. Scholared in the American-style spread offense that is prevalent nowadays, Randy took it to the PFL with gusto. He was always in the top 5 for passing yards when healthy, although that became an issue.

Dunn struggled with injuries the past two years, which he felt was a sign that it was a time to move on. Can the 96ers replace Dunn? Will they draft someone? He will surely be missed.

RB  Shevin Taylor
(Amorgan Blues 2010-2016)

Shevin was a miniature powerhouse running back. Taylor rushed for 1600 yards plus on four occasions. Whilst the onus was always on the passing game, a runner of Shevin’s calibre always seemed to keep the defence honest. Without a team for 17-18, injured and hitting thirty- Shevin decided to bow out at this stage. The PFL wishes him well with all his future endevours.

DT Chad Martin
(Pottsburgh Cardinals 2005-2010, Eregon Eagles 2011-2016)

One of the most agile 300 pound Nose Guards in the game, Chad played in over 200 games (starting 181) and was a multiple Elite Bowler. Chad helped plug up the line for Eregon until injuries caught up with him in 2015 and 2016. Often seen as an unsung hero on the defensive front.

OG Mark Reid
(Eregon Eagles 2007-2016)

Mark Reid played Guard for the Eagles for ten years. He was a part of the forward line that enable Aundrey Dempsey to rush for 2000 yards, almost reaching that mark twice.
Reid was a very skilled cut-blocker, who was said to have had a nasty streak to him. He has had ten personal fouls called on him for ‘rough-housing’. After ten years, Reid said it was time to call it a day, as he looks forward to putting his education to good use, following a fantastic time – “living the dream!”.
