After being delayed by over 24 hours, it appeared that the Phoenix had showed up ready and the home team had stayed behind in the locker room. Adelphia stormed into a 17 point lead in the first quarter, thanks to two long touchdown passes from QB Matt Kelly to Rice (76) and White (66) and a Hernandez Field Goal.

Down early, the Wasps came back with good strong drives and scoring on defence- a 30 yard interception return by Matt Hobbs and a Humphrey to Tucker pass play. With the scores tied at 17 it seemed maybe we would go in at the half level. Drew Hart returned the following kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and a 24-17 lead. Humphrey was then picked off by Tim Watts to end the half.

Chakota marched down the field and made it a four point game courtesy of a Dwayne Wal Field Goal.  Adelphia added two more scores in the third period- Kelly passes to Rice and White again. With a 38-20 lead, Chakota were facing the exit door.

A fourth quarter rally added 14 points but it was too little too late for the Wasps- their defence had let the down, their injured talismanic Quarterback had hung in there, but it remain to be seen if it was his last game.
