National Conference Final: Preview

NCF2016_headerBALLYMORE TIGERS vs SAN ANDREAS MINERS
Ballymore Tiger Field | Sunday February 21, 2016 4:30pm on MAX

The Ballymore Tigers are in unfamiliar territory, these days, one-and-done is all she wrote in the playoffs. So, here, the Tigers have a chance to ride the coat tails of destiny and beat the curse of Ballymore Bob!

QB Bo Mills has the team believing in him and the system. He has shown poise and patience in leading the team all season. Their defence is stacked and they are the best of the four remaining defences in the competition. The Tigers have plenty of playmakers in prime position, all of whom can be depended on to also follow their roles correctly. They don’t take too many risks, but do pounce on opposition mistakes.

The Miners have experience on their side. The defending champions have a little swagger as they showed to no end last week. The defence can shut down the passing game, they will need to stop the ground attack too, which has not always been easy.

In attack, the forwards block so well, Mullen’s passing prowess and calmness should help him negotiate some difficult third downs. Chauncey Smith will need to be very patient as this is the number one team against the run.

If the Tigers choose to grind it out in the cold and wet(?), Mills is patient and wears the Miners ‘D’ into making mistakes and leaving holes open- this is another Tiger play off victory folks! If not, the dependable, confident San Andreas team will leave town and move on to the Crystal Bowl. I think the Miners will ground it out.

CB XLV Rematch anyone?

EDGE: Miners, by 1-2 points.
