The Adelphia Phoenix outlasted the Melborg Giants in a battle of wits in the First round playoff game. Their third meeting of the season was charged by both defences.

Phoenix QB Matt Kelly engineered to early touchdown drives and then later two that ended in field goals. That was enough as the Giants attack committed five turnovers, four by QB Chase Hand- all interceptions. The Giants’ power runner Donovan Kelly had a big day on the ground, but drives stalled due to the interceptions.

With the scores tied at seventeen, QB Kelly led the team on a 12 play- clock sapping drive that ended with a 39 yard field goal by Ricardo Hernandez to allow the Phoenix to advance.

Kelly was 15 of 30, for 254 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT, Hand was 28 of 41, for 327 yards, 1 TD and 4 INTs.
